The Big Island of Hawaii is a runner’s paradise. With expansive lava fields and a constantly changing landscape, it’s no wonder why ultra-marathoners Billy Barnett and Alyx Luck have chosen to make it their home. Having explored hundreds (thousands?) of miles of trails within the park, there is nobody better equipped to show you the beauty of the Big Island by foot than these two. Moreover, they have local knowledge to take you to places that you would never find on your own.

ALYX LUCK
ND, CCN, CPT
Alyx is a clinically certified nutritionist and certified personal trainer with over ten years of hands on experience as a coach. She is an Ultra Runner, WBFF Fitness Pro Ranked 5th in North America in 2016 and 11th in the World in 2016, and Ironman Triathlete. She believes that anyone can accomplish anything if they set their minds to it and are willing to put in the work.
BILLY BARNETT
Billy is impossible to write a short bio about—mostly because he’s one of the most humble humans you’ll ever meet (for someone who runs 100 miles like it’s nothing). Featured in the book “Born to Run”, Billy has trained celebrities like Lance Armstrong, but doesn’t want you to know that. He studied exercise physiology in college and later got his masters in special education, and currently works teaching special education on the Big Island of Hawaii.

This is an advanced running trip. In other words, you must be able to comfortably complete a marathon for this trip to be enjoyable. If you are not currently able to do this, we can set you up on a training program to help you prepare.
